Double Flop Holdem is a fairly unique variation of standard Texas Hold'em although the
structure is very similar. The name 🌻 of the game doesn't leave much to the imagination.
You guessed it - there are two simultaneous boards (see board 🌻 cards) in play in any one
game. The game play is pretty much identical to Hold'em. Each player is dealt 🌻 two hole
cards and then the flop is dealt followed by the turn and the river at the same time 🌻 on
each board (no change to the sequence). Each board will still have five cards and you
will always have 🌻 two hole cards in your hand just like in the standard Hold'em game. So
there really isn't anything too different 🌻 other than the two boards in play.
Here is
how the board would look after all cards had been dealt:
Your Hand 🌻 (hole cards)
Board 1
Board 2 The Flop The Turn The River The Flop The Turn The River
You should not indicate
🌻 which board you are playing until the river card is dealt and players turn over their
cards. In the example 🌻 above, you have a flush on board 1 using the two hearts in your
hand with three hearts on the 🌻 board. You also have two pair, tens and sixes on board
2.
It is up to the players in the game 🌻 to decide amongst themselves whether the winner
of each board splits (takes half of the entire pot) the pot or 🌻 the best hand using both
boards takes down the entire pot - it is regularly played both ways. Some players 🌻 like
to play that the strongest hand from either board takes down the whole pot.
Remember
you cannot mix and match, 🌻 meaning you cannot use a combination of board cards from
board 1 and 2 to make a hand. The aim 🌻 of the game is for players to make the best hand
on each independent board.
Due to the fact that you 🌻 are playing two boards, your
premium starting hands become even stronger as you have two opportunities to make a big
🌻 hand once the cards are out (although your opponents do too!). At the same time, you
will have a lot 🌻 more information as it is still only one deck that is used and you will
have sight of an additional 🌻 five cards, which will help you with your calculations.
To
date there is no online room that offers an online version 🌻 of this game but it is a fun
game and would be a great addition or alternative at any home 🌻 game.
