Bison Battle Review
NoLimit City’s True Grit Redemption is set in a time when bisons
were hunted, and it comes with a - for them - record-breaking max win probability. Push
Gaming’s Bison Battle is far more lighthearted themewise, but the 1 in 4,830,920 win
cap probability is even more impressive. We do hope this becomes a competition amongst
developers, and you can win up to 50,000x your stake in this Native American-inspired
animal release.
Set deep in Indian territory, with a Grand Canyon style display in the
background, the reels are filled with wild animals and different special bison symbols.
You’ll see Red prize and multiplier Bisons stampede across the grid on a regular basis,
but only when they clash will you win multiplied prizes up to 25,000x your stake.
Multiplier Bisons are highly involved in both bonus rounds as well, and you better
strap yourself in for a volatile, hard-bucking ride in Bison Battle.

Bison Battle Slot Features
The animal premium symbols are cougars,
wolves, bears and the bald eagle, and they pay between 10 and 50 x your stake for 5-oak
wins (landing 5-oak with the top-tier eagle has a 1 in 2,316 probability). The Wild
Bison serves as the game’s wild symbol, stepping in for all regular pay symbols to help
complete winning combos. In addition, the game comes with several Special Bison Symbols
we’ll take a closer look at below.
Basically, you have 3 Special Symbols, and these are
the Blue and Green Bison scatters that can appear only on reel 1, and the Red Bison
scatter that can appear on both reel 1 and reel 5. The Red Bison comes with a random
prize value when it appears on reel 1, while it contains a prize multiplier when it
appears on reel 5. You need to land 2 Red Bison symbols on the same row on reels 1 and
5 to win anything from this feature however, and here’s how it works:
Red Bison on reel
1 - comes with a random prize value of 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000 or 2,500 x
your stake . It moves one step to the right per spin until you either land a red bison
on reel 5 on the same row, or it stampedes off the grid and the prize is lost.
- comes
with a . It moves one step to the right per spin until you either land a red bison on
reel 5 on the same row, or it stampedes off the grid and the prize is lost. Red Bison
on reel 5 - comes with a random multiplier of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10 , and it moves
one step to the left per spin until you either land a red bison on reel 1 on the same
row, or it stampedes off the grid without having any effect.
- comes with a , and it
moves one step to the left per spin until you either land a red bison on reel 1 on the
same row, or it stampedes off the grid without having any effect. The Bison Clash
Feature - triggers when you land a Red Bison on both reels 1 and 5, and on the same
row, and you then win the instant prize from the reel 1 bison boosted by the reel 5
bison multiplier.
Bison Battle Slot - Green Valley Bonus Round
You trigger the Green
Valley Bonus Round when you land the Green and Red Bison scatter on the same row, while
the Ice Park Bonus Round triggers when you land the Blue and Red Bison on the same
row.
The Ice Park feature is a hold-and-win style bonus round, and you start with 3
free spins. You will land coin prize symbols and/or blanks on the 3 middle reels, while
Bison multiplier and/or blank symbols land on reels 1 and 5. The coin symbols become
sticky and resets the spin tally each time they land, and the bison symbols also reset
the spin tally as they dash across the row to multiply anything in their way. The
possible multipliers and coin values are the same as for the Red Bison Clash
feature.
The Green Valley Bonus Round comes with 8 free spins for starters, and wilds
land on the 3 middle reels only to become locked in place. Again, the Red Bison
multiplier symbols (x2 to x10) may appear on reels 1 and 5, and you get +1 extra spin
per Red Bison you land. If sticky wilds are present on the same row, the red bison will
dash across the row to add its multiplier to all wilds it hits.
Finally, non-UK
players, and anyone eligible, can purchase either of the bonus rounds directly from the
in-game menu. The Green Valley feature costs 75x your stake, while you’ll have to cough
up 95x your stake for the Ice Park streak respins style feature. Both bonus rounds
trigger organically once every 267 spins on average.
The 200 Spins Bison Battle Slot
Experience
You get a decent taste of the base game grind, before the green and red
bison clash around 1:50 into the 6:32-minute highlights video. We racked up a decent
amount of sticky wilds, and the Ice Park feature is triggered right after. You can see
for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
You’ll see
plenty of “wasted” Red Bison symbols stampede across the base game grid for sure, which
might frustrate some players, and it wouldn’t have hurt if they served double duty as
walking wilds. However, you never know when the opposite side bison appears, so tension
is always in the air as the dream scenario of a 2,500x prize bison clashing with an x10
multiplier bison is ever possible. This takes you “only” halfway to the 50,000x win cap
however, so you’ll need a bonus round to truly knock it out of the park.
Both bonus
rounds are cleverly done, and the bison multiplier symbols can really make a dent in
the hold-and-win style Ice Park feature. It also helps that coin values up to 2,500x
can be landed, of course, and we preferred that bonus to the Green Valley sticky wild
feature. The sticky wilds seemed harder to upgrade with any significant multiplier,
although this tried and tested feature can certainly do damage as well. Overall, a very
solid Push Gaming release with a (for them) record-breaking max win probability of 1 in
4,830,920.
