What is European roulette?
There is one main difference between European roulette and American roulette. The latter has 38 pockets and ♠ two zeros – 0 and 00 – whereas in European roulette, the wheel has 37 pockets and just one zero.
The ♠ sequence of the numbers on a European roulette wheel is also different. For example, on the right side of the ♠ zero pocket, you will find nine low black numbers – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 17 ♠ – and nine high red ones – 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 32, 34 and 36.
On the left side, ♠ there are nine high black numbers – 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31, 33 and 35 – and nine ♠ low red ones – 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16 and 18.
Advantages to European roulette?
House edge – If ♠ you are hoping to better your chances of winning when playing roulette, then you are always better off playing European ♠ roulette because there is one number fewer on the table and this reduces the house edge, which is the most ♠ important factor to consider. The odds are 1 in 37 on getting a single number in European roulette but 1 ♠ in 38 for the American version, however the payout on both remains the same at 35/1.
Different sequence – As mentioned, ♠ the sequence of numbers on a European roulette table can be a nice change if it is not your usual ♠ version of the popular casino game.
How many numbers are on a European roulette wheel?
Again, as mentioned, there are 37 numbers ♠ on a European roulette wheel (1-36 and one zero) and 38 on an American roulette wheel (1-36, 0 and 00, ♠ which is called double zero).
Is European Roulette worth playing?
European roulette is one of the most played versions of roulette, especially ♠ in the United Kingdom. The house edge is more favourable for players than versions such as American roulette and if ♠ you’re looking to bet on numbers then this is certainly the better option.
