It seems that Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of playing in the Champions League again could
really be over after reports he🌟 could join Newcastle United proved to be false.
Many
reports in recent days suggested that there was a clause in Ronaldo's🌟 contract which
meant if Newcastle qualified for the Champions League at the end of this season, he
could join them🌟 in order to play in his favourite competition.
With Newcastle now being
owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, it🌟 was believed that this clause was
plausible. Unfortunately for Ronaldo, it is not the case.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe
spoke to🌟 Sky Sports recently and when asked about the clause, he said: "We wish
Cristiano all the best in his adventure,🌟 but from our point of view there is no truth
in that."
v
Despite all this, Ronaldo confirmed at the presentation with🌟 Al Nassr that
he will not play for a club in the old continent again before retiring. "In Europe, my
🌟 job is done. I won everything and played for the biggest clubs," he explained.
Having
appointed Howe as the coach and🌟 made a number of important signings with their newfound
wealth, Newcastle have been one of the big stories in the🌟 Premier League in the 2024/23
season.
The Magpies sit in third place in the table, meaning they are a strong
candidate🌟 to qualify for the Champions League.
