Legend of Cleopatra Megaways Review
This game is very loosely based on Playson’s own
2024 release by the same name. However,3️⃣ none of the features, nor the unusual reel
setup, is carried over into their Megaways debut title. Visually, the games3️⃣ are
somewhat similar however, and naturally the Megaways steroids have done a number on the
math model.
The game doesn’t feel3️⃣ like the heavy hitter it really is, with its bright
colors and lighthearted gameplay. You can expect longer walks in3️⃣ the dead spin desert
here though, and clearing the top horizontal reel to trigger the bonus round is far
from3️⃣ an easy task. The potential reward is not all that impressive unfortunately, and
we don’t understand why Playson would risk3️⃣ going so low in their first effort with this
engine, not least considering the tough competition.

Developers like
to come up with their own unique name for the3️⃣ Avalanche/Cascading win feature, and
Playson has chosen Collapsing Symbols. You will see the winning symbols be removed from
the reels,3️⃣ and replaced by a new batch of symbols dropping from above. This can land
you multiple wins in a single3️⃣ round, as the feature goes on as long as you keep
winning.
The horizontal top reel spells “bonus” in the background,3️⃣ and each symbol that
slides in here can come with up to 3 mini scarabs attached. When the top reel3️⃣ symbols
are part of a winning combo, each scarab that is “freed up” will increase the
progressive Scarab Multiplier by3️⃣ +1. The base game multiplier resets back to 1x between
spins.
The top reel symbols are not replaced by the Collapsing3️⃣ Symbols feature, and you
trigger the bonus round by clearing the top reel completely in a single Collapsing Win
sequence.3️⃣ This awards you with 12 free spins, and the current Scarab Multiplier value
is carried over into the free spins3️⃣ round.
The Scarab Multiplier does not reset between
spins here, and you get 5 extra spins every time you clear the3️⃣ top horizontal reel
completely. Of course, there is no upper limit as to how many spins you can get this
3️⃣ way, and the progressive scarab multiplier also has no cap.

It took us a3️⃣ good while of base game grinding, but
eventually we managed to clear the bonus top reel within our 200 spins3️⃣ limit. You can

Review Summary
Legend of
Cleopatra Megaways bears very little resemblance to the original3️⃣ Playson title, except
for the theme. This developer is certainly no stranger when it comes to ancient egypt,
and their3️⃣ Megaways debut offers pretty solid gameplay overall. They have not taken too
many chances with this game however, but the3️⃣ Scarab Collection Multiplier is a bit more
unpredictable than the standard win multiplier.
While the original game offered cloning
wild reels3️⃣ and a very unusual reel setup, this Megaways version is more orthodox and
straight-forward. Clearing that top bonus reel is3️⃣ far from easy though. It can be
frustrating when you get close “all the time”, but are unable to remove3️⃣ those last
pesky symbols. This game is more volatile than the original game, but it also offers
ten times the3️⃣ potential. A solid upgrade indeed, but still a bit weak compared to most
games with a Megaways engine.
