Papers put about the story that Inter were among the clubs interested in PSG outcast
Kylian Mbappé, but they learned🧾 from Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo that these deals
aren’t worth it.
As Mbappé is refusing to extend his contract, Paris Saint-Germain🧾 are
trying their best to push him out the door this summer, to therefore avoid losing him
as a free🧾 agent to Real Madrid.
Of the clubs linked with him today, Inter and Barcelona
are the least likely to be able🧾 to afford his wages, while Tottenham, Chelsea and
Manchester United could still break the bank.
In theory, the Nerazzurri could try🧾 to
pay for Mbappé via shirt sales and other merchandising opportunities, but will have
learned the lesson taught by Juventus🧾 with Cristiano Ronaldo that it doesn’t really
work like that.
Current Inter director Beppe Marotta should know, as he was pushed🧾 out
of Juve in part because he disapproved of the whole CR7 operation.
He was absolutely
right, seeing the collapse had🧾 by the Bianconeri since that deal was done, both on and
off the field.
Even Ronaldo didn’t command €2m per week🧾 in wages and unless they lock
him down to a Napoli-style image rights contract, it is really not worth it🧾 to bankrupt
the club for one player, especially one who has no intention of sticking around.
If
Mbappé were to come🧾 to any Italian side, it would be Milan, as he confessed only
recently that he grew up watching the Rossoneri🧾 and dreams of wearing their jersey.
The
new owners are rich and foolish enough to attempt it as a branding exercise,🧾 but again
are all too aware he’d see it as just a stepping stone towards Madrid.
