The 2024/23 men's Premier League football season was quite the occasion for champions
Manchester City – who also sealed a challenging treble of trophies in addition to their
third league win in a row.
Pep Guardiola's side dominated almost all competitions, not
only taking home the Premier League trophy but also winning the FA Cup and the UEFA
Champions League. They're one of only two clubs to achieve this – the other, of course,
was their city rivals Manchester United in the 1998/99 season.
As the crucial Christmas
fixtures start, it's getting quite competitive at the top of the table.
Arsenal are
currently sitting in first place, with a one-point lead over Liverpool and Aston Villa
in second and third. City are now fourth after a run of draws and a loss to Villa – and
their star player Erling Haaland has been dealing with an injured foot, according to
Guardiola.

League
The Premier League also welcomes back Burnley and Sheffield United, along with
Luton Town, who debut in the competition having last played top-flight football in 1992
(when it was still the First Division). None have started the season well, with all
three sides sitting in the relegation zone as of December 22.
Everton have joined them
towards the bottom end of the table after receiving a 10-point deduction following a
breach of "the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules". It's appealing
the decision.
An said it was "shocked and disappointed" by the Premier League
Commission ruling, and added that it "does not recognise the finding that it failed to
act with the utmost good faith and it does not understand this to have been an
allegation made by the Premier League during the course of proceedings".
The appeal is
expected to be heard later in the season. As play continues, here's the latest on which

Premier League 2024/24 schedule and fixtures
The Premier League schedule
is regularly updated on its dedicated fixtures page, and you can already see the first
matches announced for broadcast as part of the provisional 2024/24 season schedule,
which was revealed on June 15.
You can filter the listings by club and even check out
other competitions like the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League. There are
separate tabs for Premier League 2 and the under-18s Premier League fixture
schedules.
The 2024/24 Premier League season started on Friday, August 11, and
concludes on Sunday, May 19. There will be a winter break between January 13 and 30,
2024, and the Premier League's winter transfer window will re-open on January 1,
2024.

Premier League table – where to find the standings
The Premier
League table is available in full in many places, but the first place to find it is on
the league's own website (along with rankings for Premier League 2 and the Premier
League under-18s competition). You can also look back at previous tables for the
entirety of the league's history.
At the moment, it's Arsenal leading the way, followed
by Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Premier
League 2024/24 on TV – how to watch live
In the UK, Sky Sports, TNT Sports (formerly BT
Sport) and Prime Video will continue to share live Premier League TV rights until the
end of the 2024/25 season (with free, late-night TV highlights broadcast on the
BBC).
From the 2025/26 season until 2028/29, Sky Sports and TNT Sports will share live
rights in the UK, with a 70% increase in the number of live fixtures broadcast by the
former. The new deal is worth £6.7 billion to the Premier League, making it the
highest-value sports media rights deal in the history of UK TV broadcasting.
Some
international broadcast rights are renegotiated on a slightly different timescale, with
the league renewing its US broadcast deal with NBC until 2028.
Remember that Premier
League matches are often moved due to all sorts of factors such as broadcasting
schedules, policing and safety considerations, and clubs' other commitments to
competitions like the FA Cup, EFL (Carabao) Cup and European tournaments.

Premier League 2024/24 on Amazon Prime
Amazon has 20
matches per season under the current rights agreement, with its first block of matches
airing between December 5 and 7.
It also frequently gets a cluster of fixtures around
Boxing Day or New Year's Eve, and this year is no exception as it will be airing all
matches in the three-day window between December 26 and 28.
Key games including a clash
between struggling Sheffield United and Luton (December 26, 3pm kick-off) and a big
London derby between Arsenal and West Ham from the Emirates Stadium (December 28,
8.15pm).
Amazon Prime (including the Premier League football) is . But if you've not
subscribed before, you can access its services on a 30-day free trial period – which
means newcomers could watch all 10 matches next week for free.
When Amazon doesn't have
live games, it has lots of sports content you can get stuck into, plus sports
documentaries about personalities including and . You can also enjoy original TV shows
like Good Omens and Gen V with Amazon Prime membership.
And Prime members can watch
events like the Australian Open or the Le Mans 24 Hours sportscar race via the
discovery+ Standard (formerly known as discovery+ entertainment and sport) add-on, too.
This is priced at an additional £6.99 per month on top of the Prime subscription
fees.

Premier League 2024/24 on Sky Sports and NOW
Sky
usually gets most of the live Premier League games per season, airing over 140 of them
last time out. Most games air on Sky Sports Premier League, and the network is also
home to the famous Soccer Saturday round-up show, usually hosted by Simon
Thomas.
Notable games for Sky in the Christmas and New Year period include Liverpool's
match Arsenal, on December 23 (5.30pm kick-off), plus the New Year's Day fixture
between... you guessed it, Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield (January 1, 8pm
kick-off).
Moving further into January 2024, Sky viewers can enjoy a match between
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur (January 14, 4.30pm kick-off), and heading into
February, it will broadcast the reverse of that Arsenal/Liverpool fixture at the
Emirates (February 4, 4.30pm kick-off).
There are a variety of Sky Sports packages
available to new customers on Sky Q (setup fees apply, offer prices may change and
pricing on Sky Glass and Sky Stream differs):

Sky notes in its terms that package prices may go up
during your subscription period, so be prepared just in case.
Sky's sports channels
cover all sorts — from selected Women's Super League football matches to cricket, motor
racing (including Formula 1 , F1 Academy and IndyCar ) to boxing, NBA to golf, rugby
league, women's rugby and netball. It also has a rolling news channel, Sky Sports
News.
Further football coverage — including EFL games, Scottish football fixtures and
the German Bundesliga — is usually found on Sky Sports Football.
If you'd prefer to
watch Sky Sports via NOW, you can pay £11.98 for a daily membership or £34.99 for a
monthly membership.
Keep an eye out for time-limited offers and promotions from NOW as
well. Until October 30, customers can claim a discounted price of £21/month for 6

Premier League 2024/24 on
TNT Sports
TNT Sports will have 52 Premier League fixtures in the 2024/24 season. It
will also carry coverage of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference
League and UEFA Super Cup until 2024.
The network also airs coverage from the top
flight of French football, Ligue 1 , and Italy's top league Serie A , plus MotoGP ,
Premiership Rugby, international cricket, UFC and WWE – and it broadcasts exclusive
sports documentaries which are only available to subscribers.
Following Jake Humphrey's
departure, Lynsey Hipgrave is continuing on as Premier League coverage host. Laura
Woods and Reshmin Chowdhury will lead Champions League coverage. A few other familiar
faces from the BT Sport era remain with the team, including Rio Ferdinand, Rachel
Brown-Finnis and Owen Hargreaves.
Highlights of TNT's live coverage in December and
January include West Ham's home game against Manchester United (December 23, 12.30pm
kick-off), Manchester City's visit to Newcastle (January 14, 5.30pm kick-off), and
Liverpool's home game against Chelsea (January 31, 8.15pm kick-off).
BT Sport's
previous Monthly Pass is now known as . As of October 2024, it's still priced at £29.99
per month for 30 days' access and includes Eurosport channels and discovery+
entertainment programming.
The contract-free offering is available to all, not just BT
