Roulette is one of the most popular casino games. It's no surprise that online casinos
have different variations of roulette. The game is a good gambling with stakes
sometimes so high that players with each new wheel spin become literally poor or rich.
There are three main variations of roulette you can play almost in any casino:
European, American and French Roulette.
European Roulette
European roulette has 37
sectors on the wheel, which are numbered from 0 to 36. The sectors are painted in red
and black. 0—zero — colored green. In European Roulette there is only one zero, it is
called sometimes as “roulette with one zero.” The game rules are simple: the player
tries to guess which sector the ball stays after the wheel stops spinning. Players
place bets before the croupier spins the wheel and rolls the ball.
You may place the
straight bet to a single number, cover several numbers, make a color bet, even/odd and
so on. The European Roulette rules are simple, easy to learn and nice to play. The
gaming house edge in European Roulette is much lower than that in American Roulette,
due to a single zero. That is, the chances that the ball stops at the number other than
the zero are about twice as high.
There are so-called inside and outside bets. It is
convenient for players to differentiate them. The establishment may set the minimum and
maximum bets for a gaming table. Thus, the player can immediately choose for himself
the comfortable game level. And, do not forget: once the wheel starts spinning, bets
are no longer accepted.
American Roulette
The American Roulette wheel is divided into
38 sections. There are numbers from 1 to 36 and also 0 and 00. After the players placed
their bets, the dealer spins the wheel and polls the ball. The ball stays at a split on
the wheel and the dealer calls the winning number and color.
The numbers on the
American Roulette wheel placed so that anyone has equal chances to be a winning number.
There are inside and outside bets on the playing field. The gaming house edge in
American Roulette is twice as higher than in European Roulette due to double zero. You
can use some strategies while playing, such as Martingale or Fibonacci. It is the same
as in European Roulette. The odds of winning are less than in European Roulette,
because of a double zero. Therefore, players like American Roulette online much
less.
French Roulette
French Roulette does not differ much from American or European
Roulette. There are 37 sectors on the French Roulette wheel, and they are numbered from
0 to 36. Numbers from 1 to 36 are colored red and black, and zero is green. The gambler
tries to guess which split the ball stays after the wheel stops spinning and place the
bet.
The main peculiarity of French Roulette is the game table design: all signs are in
French only. And French Roulette has its unique “La Partage” rule. According to the
rule, if the ball stays at zero, the equal chances bets lose only half.
