Interesting that this is brought up nowI've done a bunch of research related to MTT
recently and there's a big update for the MTT functionality planned in the next 4-6
weeks or so.Re 1) and 2):The current MTT model provides a relatively rough
approximation of ICM equities. For large fields, the MTT estimates of the current model
are typically off by about 3% compared to true ICM Malmuth/Harville equities. There is
considerable room for improvement, but it's certainly better than any manual
approximation or ChipEV.As I mentioned above, the current MTT model will be replaced in
a few weeks. The main new MTT model is much more accurate and still fairly fast, it
reduces the typical relative error to below 0.1%. For all practical purposes, you will
have "true" ICM estimates available for fields of a few hundred players. For really
large fields the algorithm is a bit slow and we'll probably have to use a less accurate
variant there, but at 1% relative error that faster variant is still much more accurate
than the current model.3) The custom prize structures are currently saved in file
"HRC/configuration/.settings/net.holdemresources.calculator.prefs". You could simply
copy that file to other installations to import your saved structures, but you will
override most of the other settings as well. As part of the MTT update, the UI for
entering prizes is also re-done and you'll get the option to import/export structures
to plain files. If you can wait a few weeks for the new beta, then you may save a lot
of time if you plan on entering huge structures.4) This simply copies the single-table
structure of the first dialog page, whatever you previously entered there is copied
over to the MTT page.
