Rocco Gallo: Slot Overview
Apologies to our vegetarian readers, but according to the
World Economic Forum, 50 billion chickens are slaughtered 😗 each year for consumption –
and this figure does not include male chicks or unproductive hens. That is a
frightening 😗 number of breasts and thighs making their way to the dinner table and
easily outdoes other animals such as the 😗 300.7 million cows, 545.08 million sheep, and
1.47 billion pigs (2014 figures). You may or may not want to add 😗 a few more cartoon
animals to the list after playing Rocco Gallo, an online slot from developer Play'n GO
full 😗 of poultry, a fox, vegetables, and an instant prize bonus round as its showpiece
feature.
Unfortunately, the previous sentence has summed 😗 much of Rocco Gallo up, so
there isn't much more to add from a thematic perspective. Except for the fact 😗 that the
game is set in a small village in Italy of all places. Hey, we're not turning down a
😗 trip to one of the world's premium holiday destinations, though it's just a little
confusing as to why players are 😗 transported to Italy over anywhere else since chickens
are so universal. Ah well, Italy is as good as anywhere else, 😗 and going there allows
Play' GO's graphics team to use a warm set of tones to paint the picture. In 😗 the middle
of town sits a 5-reel, 3-row game grid, while around it are quaint shops, cobbled
streets, and plenty 😗 of fresh produce - something Italy is famous for; perhaps juicy
tomatoes are the link?
Anyway, Rocco Gallo is playable on 😗 any device, where stakes of
10 p/c toR$/€100 per spin may be selected. Using 20 fixed paylines, wins are created 😗 by
landing identical symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. It's a
medium/high volatile game, with a set 😗 of RTP values maxing out at 96%. On paper, at
least, the potential is pretty good, yet it might pay 😗 to not expect miracles outside of
the bonus game, or during it either, really.
This is because there are no features,
😗 modifiers, or extras of any kind in the base game, so regular line wins are it. These
top out at 😗 25x the bet for a line of five of the most valuable chicken symbol type,
dropping to 10-20x for the 😗 other three premium symbols. Beneath them are five vegetable
low pay symbols, worth between 2 and 3.5 times the bet 😗 for a five of a kind winning
combo. Better value can be had when five wild symbols land across a 😗 payline at 50x the
bet, but usually, wilds help make regular line wins by substituting for any of the pay
😗 symbols.
Rocco Gallo: Slot Features
Getting to the main course occurs when three or
more Golden Egg symbols land in the base 😗 game, activating the Instant Prize Bonus. This
is a rather simplistic streak respin style round where any Golden Egg symbol 😗 that lands
awards an Instant Prize value which accumulates in a Cash Pot, or a multiplier, which
multiplies the Cash 😗 Pot.
Landing the special Rocco Gallo symbol awards the Cash Pot
Value, or, just to ruin your day, landing the Vinnie 😗 Volpe symbol resets the Cash Pot
to zero. Should Vinnie and Rocco land at the same time, then all good; 😗 the Cash Pot
value is saved and awarded.
Rocco Gallo: Slot Verdict
Dining on chickens is obviously
hugely popular across the world 😗 and spinning our winged friends on the reels is a
fairly common occurrence, too. As to Rocco Gallo, it looks 😗 quite good on the outside,
and Play'n GO has done a good job of creating a picturesque Italian village to 😗 locate
the chickens versus fox action. However, beauty is skin deep, and Rocco Gallo's
thrills, such as they are, are 😗 few and far between. The base game is pretty lean; not
much happens there outside the odd line win and 😗 two scatter tease thing, so if the
Italian village charm wears off, so does much of Rocco Gallo's allure. What's 😗 left is a
Big Bad Wolf looking game full of personable characters in an attractive setting, yet
one without the 😗 compelling gameplay of the Quickspin classic.
The same assessment
applies to the Instant Prize Bonus as well. It's a basic respin 😗 bonus round, and if you
strip away the cute chickens, there isn't much left behind. The simplicity might suit
some 😗 – just land prizes and/or multipliers to build the Cash Pot, then land Rocco to
scoop the winnings. Get burned 😗 by Vinnie once or twice, and the game might not seem so
innocent, though. It's the sort of bonus round 😗 players are likely to either love or
hate. Or feel ambivalent about, and for us, it didn't light too many 😗 fires. Amazingly,
Rocco Gallo comes with winning potential of 10,000x the bet, which might seem a bit
optimistic, but hey, 😗 the numbers are what they are.
As soon as Rocco Gallo loaded, it
was a game that felt familiar. From its 😗 cartoon antics to its chicken populace, the use
of a bad guy fox, and a simple, potentially frustrating bonus round. 😗 Rocco Gallo does
look pretty good, for what it is, so okay, maybe players absolutely smitten by barnyard
animals or 😗 an Angry Birds-ish game might get some sort of kick out of what's on offer.
It does rely heavily on 😗 its characters to carry the game, so if they don't push your
buttons, or the Italian countryside isn't on your 😗 bucket list, then Rocco Gallo is
unlikely to ignite much interest.
