What is 2-7 Single Draw
2-7 Single Draw, also known as
Kansas City Lowball is a poker 8️⃣ variant of 2-7 Lowball Draw. In contrast to 2-7 Triple
Draw, players instead have just one draw, and this format 8️⃣ is played no-limit.

2-7 Single Draw:
Never play hands that need to draw two 8️⃣ cards
Don't play hands that can
make a straight by drawing one card
Three-bet strong four-card draws (7-low and 8-low),
as your 8️⃣ one-card draw is a favorite against most hands
Don't break hands for which
drawing one card can only improve your hand 8️⃣ by one spot (e.g., don't break 10 x 9 x 8 x
7 x 2 x or J x 10 8️⃣ x 9 x 8 x 2 x )

2-7 Single Draw at the World Series of Poker 8️⃣ (WSOP)
2-7 Single Draw Lowball is
one of the most historic events at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) with at 8️⃣ least one
event held at every WSOP apart from one since 1973.
The first event was aR$3,000
buy-in, before increasing toR$5,000 8️⃣ from 1974-76. The buy-in increased again to
aR$10,000 freezeout from 1977-1985, apart from 1980 where the tournament allowed
re-entries.
From 1986 8️⃣ until 2008, apart from when the event was not held in 1999, the
2-7 Single Draw Event was aR$,000 buyin 8️⃣ event that allowed for re-entries.
In 2009, the
2-7 Single Draw Championship buy-in was increased toR$10,000. A lowerR$2,500 buy-in
event was 8️⃣ introduced, which was reduced toR$1,500 from 2010 onwards.
