The participants' performances will be evaluated over the course of eight months, from August 20, 2024, to December 19, 2024.
Peers 💹 will select the starting eleven players, including one custodian, three defenders, three midfielders, and three strikers. The outfield player who 💹 receives the most votes among the nine previously chosen will occupy the final slot in the starting lineup.
For FIFA's "The 💹 Best Men's Player of the Year", Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland reached the final three-man shortlist.
Each member of 💹 the shortlist for the FIFPro World XI, including Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr, was chosen by their peers.
Three goalkeepers—Thibaut Courtois, 💹 Emiliano Martinez, and Emerson—as well as six defenders, seven midfielders, and seven strikers are on the shortlist. Ruben Dias, John 💹 Stones, Kyle Walker, Antonio Rudiger, Virgil Van Dijk, and Eder Militao are among the defenders on the list.
