Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win Review
Playson have been around for such a long time that
it’s actually quite hard to say anything meaningful about them. They are incredibly
experienced, though, and they are capable of putting that experience to good use when
they want to. With Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win, however, they decided to play it
rather safe, and this 5x3 slot with 10 paylines won’t surprise any fans of Hold and Win
slots. That doesn’t mean that it’s not worth checking out, however. It is, especially
if you’re looking for a simple introduction to the popular Hold and Win niche.
To be
fair, the slot’s theme won’t impress anyone either, as it’s all about classic symbols
like bells, sevens and card suits. The audiovisuals are slick, though, and we do
appreciate the fact that the designers did bother enough to make things look modern.
It’s all easy on the eyes, but you can’t go in expecting a lot.
Ultra Fortunator: Hold
and Win Slot – Reels Screen
The volatility level of Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win is
medium-high, and its hit frequency clocks in at 12.22%. That’s a fairly low value, so
you have to be ready for some losing runs. In any case, the slot’s jackpot stands at
2,157x your bet, and you can enjoy the proceedings for stakes between £0.20 and £100
per spin. Finally, the slot’s theoretical RTP is 95.55%, which is essentially two
notches below average.
Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win Slot Features
The game’s paytable
offers a set of 8 pay symbols, which are evenly divided into 4 low pays and 4 high
pays. For low pays, there are card suits that all pay the same, which means that you’ll
get a 10x payout for a set of five. For high pays, there are dice, BAR symbols, bells
and sevens. Sevens are the most valuable symbols, and they even pay out in sets of just
two. Find a five-of-a-kind combination of them to get a neat 100x payout!
There are no
Wilds or Scatters in Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win. The only specials that you can
look forward to are Gem Bonus symbols, which trigger and play a role in the slot’s
Bonus Game.
Ultra Fortunator: Hold and Win Slot – Bonus Game
In the base game, Gem
Bonus symbols can appear only on the middle reel. If you find three of them at once,
you’ll trigger the Bonus Game, which is a somewhat unique Hold and Win feature. You’ll
get 3 respins to start with as per usual, and each new Gem Bonus symbol that lands will
reset your respins tally back to 3.
The triggering Gem Bonus symbols are Sticky, but
new standard ones aren’t. Instead, they will pay their values and the values of the
triggering symbols upon landing before disappearing from view. The only Sticky symbols
are the unique Mystery Gem Bonus symbols, which will reveal their values only at the
end of the feature and which can bring you one of the slot’s four fixed jackpots. They
are called Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, and they are worth 25x, 50x, 150x and 1,000x
your stake, respectively.
Review Summary
At the end of the day, Ultra Fortunator: Hold
and Win is a game with both pluses and minuses. As for the positives, we like its fresh
take on the classic Hold and Win feature, and we like how focused it is – if you
haven’t played a Hold and Win slot just yet, you might enjoy that focus. On the other
hand, there’s nothing here aside from the Hold and Win feature, and the slot’s subpar
RTP means that there’s not much value in the package in the long term.
